As an experienced colour analyst and personal stylist, I find it difficult not to analyse the colours and clothes of everyone that I see. Whilst watching Desperate Housewives the other day, I decided to look at the gorgeous Eva Longoria Parker in a bit more detail.
Eye Colour: Deep brown
Skin Tone: Warm with a golden undertone
Hair Colour: Deep brown with warm highlights
Eva Longoria Parker sans make-up.
From the above photograph, it looks like Eva has a warm skin tone which means that she is either a Spring or an Autumn.

Close your eyes and then open them and look at Eva in cool colours. Did you see her face first? Or the colour of her dress? Repeat with the warm colors shots. What did you notice? The warm colours harmonise with Eva’s complexion and you see Eva, not the colour. The cool colours stand out against Eva’s skin and hair and you see the clothes rather than her. Colours should blend with your unique colourings and should enhance your look, not overpower it.
The next thing to find out is whether Eva is a Spring or an Autumn. Both seasons are warm but the Spring palette is bright and clear whereas Autumn palette is deep and soft. Look at the pictures below.
Eva in Light, Bright & Clear Spring Colours
Eva in Deep, Soft & Muted Autumn Colours
The lighter Spring colours do not work as well with Eva's complexion as the deeper shades of the Autumn palette. Her dark hair and eyes need a deep colour to balance them and the light, bright Spring colours are not strong enough to do this. She is an Autumn.
Wearing the correct colours for your complexion can make a huge difference to your look. The right colours make your skin glow, your eyes sparkle and your hair shine so when colours work in harmony with your complexion, the result is fantastic. However, wearing the wrong colours can make you skin look dull and can make you look washed out and tired so it is important to find out which colours work for you.
The personal stylist for Desperate Housewives is obviously trained in colour analysis as you will rarely see Eva's character Gabby wearing cool or bright colours.
