Prints were big news on the SS2011 runways and they came in many different forms. The print trend has continued from 2010 and while mixing different prints used to be a fashion faux pas, it is now considered to be in vogue.
There were several different types of print that were prevalent on the Spring Summer catwalks and there is a brief rundown below. Look out for the next post that will give you a few tips for how to successfully mix prints.
Animal prints continue but have changed slightly from the simple prints that were popular in 2010. Splashes of colour have been incorporated in shows such as Blumarine, and Cavalli showed how to mix different animal prints for a unique and contemporary effect.
The English country garden floral prints can really brighten your wardrobe after the cold winter months. Floral dresses are everywhere but if you'd rather just accessorise with floral prints, try wearing a floral cardigan, tights or accessories to liven up a black dress.

Digital & Geometric Prints
You can be as bold as you like with these digital and geometric prints. Go for complicated colourful designs if you want to attract attention, or monochrome for a more subtle affect. Check out the Just Cavalli, Moschino and Missoni shows for some great examples.
